Job Description

Adams & Martin Group is seeking a Collections Paralegal to join a multidisciplinary law firm in Edina, MN. This is a direct hire opportunity with an onsite work model.

The Paralegal's responsibilities include:

Collections Duties

  • Draft demand letters, payment agreements, settlement documentation, and correspondence.
  • Communicate professionally with debtors, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Assist in setting up payment plans and tracking payments and account status.

Litigation Support

  • Draft pleadings, motions, complaints, affidavits, and related court documents.
  • Prepare documents and exhibits for court filing and trial preparation.
  • Monitor court dockets, calendars, and litigation deadlines; docket and calendar tasks accurately.
  • E-file documents with courts and arrange for proper service of process.
  • Coordinate with attorneys to manage case files and litigation workflow.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
  • Prepare legal correspondence and internal reports.
  • Provide general legal assistant support, including answering phones, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Assist with legal research and document review as needed.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 2+ years of legal experience in collections, litigation support, or creditor rights work.
  • Strong knowledge of court procedures, legal drafting, and document preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management or docketing systems.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.

Preferred

  • Paralegal certificate or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Assistant, or related field.
  • Experience with e-filing systems and court electronic filing procedures.
  • Previous law firm or corporate legal department experience.
